Life Insurance is the reason We exist [Self Introduction]

Over the new year period, we had a wonderful epiphany over the drinking and celebration.

After a solid year of writing articles, delivering information, and comparing policies – we realized that we never really introduced ourselves formally to the public.

What better way to kick off 2017 than to collect our thoughts and let our users know us a little better?

We may be a year late, but it’s never too late to say hello!


What is


The World Famous Logo – even we know about it!


It is our darling child of a website that aims to provide users with information about Life Insurance. Within it, you will find information about Life Insurance, different policy prices, and articles that were written for the layperson.


Why was it started?


To this question, we have a short (and long) answer.

Short: To battle information asymmetry.

Long: (here goes…)

For the longest time, Life Insurance information has been largely been passed down by word of mouth. Through agents (mostly), well-meaning friends, colleagues, and relatives. There has not really been a singular entity that can fully claim to be unbiased and objective in this information dissemination.


Clearly Surely was started to combat this information asymmetry so that people can find the information they need, in a clear and easy to understand manner. Without fear of vested interests, misinformation, and anecdotal (but incorrect) examples.


It was high time that someone started the ball rolling on the most important aspect (we feel) of personal finance, which starts from insurance.


What makes it different from other personal finance sites out there?


Clearly Surely: more than just a pretty face


We focus and deep dive on Life Insurance. No messing around with other subject matters, no matter how much flavor-of-the-month they pack. (Binary Options, Industrial Property, Dividend Yielding stocks, Gold, etc)

There is a conscious decision right from the start to educate our users of the A to Z of Life Insurance so that we purposefully achieve something, rather than dabble lightly in the (vast) sphere that is Personal Finance and not accomplish anything of use.

Also, our site looks pretty cute.


Has the going been tough?


Looks like a piece of cake – all he has to do is to crawl through mud



It has been horrendously tough.

And we mean it in every sense of the word. We self-funded this entire site with our savings, so right off the bat we had to source for cost effective options to design and build the site. (But we are pretty proud of the results)

Also, the marketing efforts that we do come straight out of our coffers, without sponsorship from any entity or company. That means we also do most of the marketing ourselves, which isn’t easy. (Insurance isn’t quite as popular as say, the best Laksa in town)


But what truly makes it tough sometimes is the cavalier attitude that some people take towards our work. For example:


I wish I could say millions and millions… but actually its a number between 0 and 0


1. We don’t sell anything, we give information for free. 2. Every policy is unwanted – until it is needed (True story)


We know we are far from perfect, but it’s really hard sometimes to swallow un-migrated criticism from the very people we are trying to help. But as time goes by, we have learned how to turn this into drive, as it shows that there ARE people out there who really need our help (but may not recognize it yet)

Yes it is a mind-trick, and no we are not Jedi masters. Yet.

We just need all the help we can get.


How are we getting monetary rewards?


Each time we feel like getting paid… we don’t.


This is the most exciting part of our site!

We get nothing. Zero. Ziltch. No one pays us anything.

You know why? This is because we want to keep true to our purpose – which is to provide unbiased and objective information.


To others, it may be a costly principle – but to us, that principle is right at the core of our DNA.

No one will believe a research article on sugar if it were funded by Pepsi. (Which coincidentally, did really happen.)


So why keep doing this?


We like to think that we are not stupid people.

We are just stupidly passionate about providing information – so that it can be used for good.


If through our efforts, we manage to save at least one family from financial ruin, it’s all worth it. Should someone make a proper insurance decision and subsequently manages to keep his children well-fed and educated, then we would have done our job – and then some.

Gratitude is something that money cannot buy. And we intend to keep reaching out so that we make as much of a positive impact as possible.



What’s new and exciting?


And for our next trick…


We just rolled out our new Discover section. It is something that we have worked on for the last half of 2016, and it’s definitely one of a kind.

For the first time ever, our users can get to find out exactly how much insurance cover they need, and for how long they need it for. To our knowledge, there is no one source or portal that allows such an insight to be shown. So you might be looking at a world’s first.


But we are not resting on our laurels just yet. Other than improving our Discover feature, we also intend to expand upon its functionality – but we are keeping it hush-hush for now. Hint: It might also be another world’s first!

The Road ahead



We started with the intention to help people make informed decisions about Life Insurance. And that intention has continued to grow with each milestone we achieve.

No one can see into the future (which is what Insurance is for!), but we will continue to deliver useful content and functions for our users.
