Away from Singapore for a fortnight, I reached Singapore only on Friday evening.
Although tired, I was jet-lagged and could not sleep until 5am.
The sun was already midway by the time I roused from my slumber.
After a late lunch, I went to my car.
I inserted and turned my car
An unfamiliar choking sound.
The car did not manage to start.
I clanked the key a few more times but the vehicle refused to cooperate.
Giving up, I decided to go back home to find the cause.
Getting home, I compressed the button on my PC.
While loading the Windows OS, a dreaded blue screen of death appeared.
Then it prompted me to reboot the machine.
A few restarts had gone by.
I was unable to rectify the problem.
My PC appeared to be dead.
Needless to say, it was a terrible Saturday for me. Ho
Jetlag, car breakdown and unbootable PC, all in one day.
Bad things happen in threes.
In yet another sleepless night yesterday, I thought of the day’s events.
A realization came to my mind – in life, bad things does not come in isolation.
They almost always occur together.
In the papers, you often read about the same person suffering from a series of unfortunate events.
Man loses his job, gets ill and become bankrupt; kid involves in an accident, injured and permanently disabled.
These stories were commonly seen and heard.
How ready are we for all these unsavoury occurrences ?
For me, it is clear that I am ill-prepared for the recent spate of events.
However, these incidents are really nothing much, in the grand scheme of things.
Have you thought about the bad events that may occur to you?
They are likely to hit you fast and hard and come back-to-back.
And I am not referring to car breakdowns but the possibility of injury, illness and hospitalization.
Thankfully, you may prepare for them via insurance.
